Christmas in Britain (as aptly defined by the age defying Bart Simpson)

17 Dec

“Christmas is the one time of year when people of all religions come together to worship Jesus Christ.” – Bart Simpson

To me this idea rings both true and false. True, Christmas is a period of time when people (of all persuasions) seem to unite around a common…home decoration. False,  Jesus Christ (and the worship there of) is far from the mind of the vast majority at Christmas time.

My $0.02 is that Christmas in now truely a secular event. As sad as that may seem to us Christians it’s something we should acknowledge and deal with.

People unite yes, but Christmas is definatley not about Christ.
