Ed Stetzer Tweets

Here are two great tweets from Ed Stetzer:

You cannot disciple people with books, you disciple them life on life.

All too often we’re tempted to disciple people ‘from a distance’. A kind of hit and run discipleship, dropping books out of a plane and hoping they hit their target. Even if books are to be a key factor in our discipling of others they need to be just a part of what Stetzer calls life on life, what I;d prefer to call face to face.

When pastors do for people what God has called people to do, everyone gets hurt & the mission is hindered.

The idea of the pastor as THE minister (i.e. the one who does the ministry of the church) is a crippling one. The task of the pastor is to train the church for the ministry.
